Teen portraits - Saara

Visiting Australia for a summer Christmas must have been quite the climate shock for this gorgeous girl who hails from the same country as Santa Claus himself. Her family surprised her with her first ever portrait session and as you can see, the heat didn't bother her one bit.

If she was nervous about two photographers pointing their cameras at her and guiding her through poses, she certainly didn't show it. We ended up with so many beautiful images, we almost felt like she would have too many to choose from!

Family photography - multiple families

Every few years when these families get together for Christmas they make the effort to organise a family photo session. What a fantastic way to capture the growth of their broods!

This shoot was fantastic from a photographer's perspective. With so much experience in front of the camera, everyone, from Grandma to the kids, knew exactly what they were doing and what they wanted when it came to posing. This would be the largest family group we have photographed, and the whole session was over in the blink of an eye!

We were also extremely impressed with their colour coordination, don't they look fantastic?

Merry Christmas!

Thank you to our family, friends, Facebook fans and our fabulous clients for making 2013 such a wonderful year. We look forward to what 2014 has in store!

We know how busy weekends can be when your kids are at school. Why not take advantage of having the kids at home for the school holidays and organise a family photo session?

Family Portraits

The love in this family shone straight out of their beautiful smiles. It was such a pleasure to watch the dynamics between mum, dad and the kids. There seemed to be a peace that radiated from them all, even with their gorgeous girl tearing around and enjoying the wide open space!

We look forward to seeing this family in the new year for a very special ceremony to welcome their little man.

Family Portraits - On the move

One of the most common complaints we hear from parents is that their little ones won't sit still long enough to have their photo taken. While it is true that toddlers have better things to do than smile for the camera, it doesn't mean that you have to rule out family portraits, quite the opposite!

Capturing a family means much more than smiling for the camera - it means following the kids around and watching them play, letting them interact with their siblings and their mum and dad just like they do every day. If you're lucky, you'll be able to snatch a few quiet and peaceful moments when the little ones slow down and take a breath...

Pampered Pets

The splashing stopped and Duke looked up at us with mournful eyes as if to say "What have I done?" The urge to explore the rock pools disappeared quickly, just as he was halfway out of the water, his front paws touching dry land and his back legs refusing to budge.

The first few minutes of this pet photography session very nearly spelled disaster. Mum and dad got a little wet retrieving Duke, but the combination of a short walk and a hot day meant that both Duke and his companion Prils were soon dry and happy again.

Family Portraits

Family portraits sure have changed since the days when dressing up in your Sunday finest, popping down to the local department store, standing in a line across a dull backdrop and saying 'cheese' was the norm.

Today's family portrait is one that captures your family as they are, just as you see them. Relaxed or posed, dressed up or dressed down, indoors or out - the most important goal of a family photo session is to capture a real and true image of your loved ones. An image that will make you smile every time you see it. Sounds corny but it's true!
